And here we are! This was a pretty awesome final day of non-paleo eats, I managed to get a few choice delicacies in before the deadline. I will be keeping it short and sweet tonight but I do have some pics for you! Also, get ready for tomorrow because tomorrow will be an epic post, both in length and content!! (Spoiler = part of the epicness will be your first glimpse of partial nudity... hells ya!)
But I am getting ahead of myself!
- Morning started off with eggs, brie and tomatoes.
Those of you paying attention will notice that this is just a different angle shot of yesterday's meal... I .... uh... I forgot to take a pic. Don't judge me!
- Next was a trip to the Westmont Medical Imaging clinic for a check up of my lower back. To make a loooooong story short, I have a nagging lower back injury that, although not stoping me from doing anything really, just isn't going away. Thanks to the awesomeness of a medical plan, I got to live out the closest thing to inter-dimensional travel this Star Wars/Avatar fan will see at a bargain bin price:
!Behold the MRI Machine!
How does it work? Well, you lay down on that stretcher sized bed (actually pretty cozy), they hand you ear plugs (very useful), ask you if you are claustrophopic (to which my lying response was "no") and slowly slide you into place. That space is frikin small dude. My first thought went to that scene in Kill Bill vol. II when the bride is buried alive. Nice Pete, this is exactly what you should be thinking about after the MRI technician asks you to take nice, long, calm breaths. Focusing to keep my twitchy right fist from punching through the machine, I took a few deep breaths and half slept my way through this just like back in the day when I was 4 years old taking naps in my dad's tractor. All in all, pretty epic spending of 650 Smackers! (I'll post pics of the scan once I figure out how to convert them to a mac readable file!)
- This was followed by my first paleo food prep:
The Usual Suspects...
... Have Been Disposed Of... And Frozen
A few hours later, I had to stop by my favourite work lunch spot - Les Copains D'abord - for this tuna croissant, raisin carrot salad, almond chocolatine triple threat:
And then came the final non-paleo meal!
In the spirit of the playoffs...
Chicken Wings!
Absolutely delicious!
And this ends today's post!
Tomorrow is the first official day of my Paleo diet, and I am PUMPED.
I'm excited to finally get this adventure underway and will be giving you more detail about what/why/how this is all about!
'night
